OUR VISION

Who Is Oasis Church?

At Oasis, our vision is to help people take “next steps” on their journey with Christ. We strive to live life in community where we find deeper, meaningful relationships that help us grow in our faith by being centered on Jesus and the Word of God. We gather together on Sundays to sing together, be taught the Word of God, encourage each other, and bring others to experience the truth of God’s Word.

Because we are changing and becoming more like Christ, our city is impacted in greater ways. Our goal is that Ormond Beach is a better place to live because of the people who live in it. We are becoming a people who are more committed to our marriages, who are investing in raising healthy children, who care about the needs of those around us, both in our friendships and our community, and are aware and engaged with the needs and issues facing humanity around the globe.  When we become the true Church that God intended, it will shape what we do and how we live our life. This, in turn, changes the world around us by impacting our circles of influence.

Glorify God

We believe everything we do at Oasis Church should point others to the greatness of God because of everything He has done for us (Romans 12:1). This is the standard we apply to every ministry we have. This is not to say that we won’t be unconventional in our methods, but we will always be careful to ensure that the name of Jesus is lifted up by what we do and how we do it. This involves an inward attitude that is right with God and an outward expression that is devoted to Him, resulting in an impact that can reach far beyond the boundaries of Ormond Beach.

Move the Message

As followers of Christ we have been entrusted with the most important message that the world has ever known: Jesus Christ, eternal God, became flesh and took the penalty for all the sins of mankind, making a way for our forgiveness and salvation for all who would believe. At Oasis Church we take the importance of sharing this message very seriously, and we make it a priority in all we do. The message is simple: God so loved the world that He gave His Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him would have have eternal life (John 3:16). This offer is to all who would believe; as the Bible says, “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

Engage the community

As believers and followers of Christ, we believe we have been set free through His atoning work at the cross and His resurrection. This freedom enables us to serve and set others free by showing and sharing the Good News of Christ. We meet people where they are, not where we want them to be, just as Jesus did, so that they can become who God created them to be.

Invest in people

At Oasis we want to invest in people, corporately and individually, in our immediate community and around the world. As we pour into peoples’ lives, we always aim to be: redemptive, pointing to the hope that Christ offers of a new heart; actively helpful in meeting the need of the individual; responsible in our investment in peoples’ lives, making sure that we are providing a genuine benefit; generous, giving sacrificially so that we might demonstrate the attitude of our God and Savior; and consistent, ensuring that meeting the needs of those God brings our way is always a priority.

Give of time, talent, treasure

God gifts people in various ways with time, talent, and treasure, and He expects us to give back to His work accordingly. Some will have more of one than the others, but whatever we have we are to give to the work of the Kingdom of God through the local church, When we give of these, we believe that we give to the united cause of knowing God and making God known in Ormond Beach and beyond. We give for the right reason—not because we have to, but because He has given so much for us. We give gladly in response to His grace and mercy towards us. We also give so that others may benefit from what we have. While we often think of giving of treasure, the giving of time and talent are also critical,  powerful tools God uses to demonstrate His love and to transform lives.

Run the race

The Scriptures describe the Christian life in athletic terms, even using the picture of a runner in a race. With this in mind, we want to pursue the work of the Christian life faithfully. To do so, we believe that we must: run like we want to win, with effort and intensity; run as if there is a reward, for we know that God honors our faithfulness, both in this life and in eternity; and we run with discipline, knowing that there must be sound preparation if one is to compete well. We must be sure to Know God well so that we might Make God Known.
